Another great independent bottling of clynelish (there are so many of these) - also 15 years in a sherry butt - nice.

Very nice nose – nice sherry, crème brulee, and a very nice set of sherry spices. Maple cookies, maple wood, beeswax, and a bit of damp cardboard play into the mix (as I often get with Scotch). The palate is deep and richly sherried, with a huge vanilla backbone which is integrated very well. Brown sugar and cinnamon bulid into a finish with rich spice, rancio, prunes, blueberry, and vanilla. A rich and deep finish. Great mouthfeel, too. It is less sweet than it would appear.

Very Highly Recommended (18% of all whiskies I’ve reviewed to date get this recommendation or higher).
