Nose: Apple sauce, oak vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla – lightly creamy and oily. Green apple, dragonfruit, starfruit, lychee, blueberry, chestnut – very complex. Heather.

Taste: A bit of a spicy entry before the sweetness hits, lightly malty with some candied orange, bits of earthiness in the background. Relatively sweet with bits of apples, fades with some oak spice. There is a touch of smoke and peat in the background, too. Creamy. Complexity isn’t matched on the palate compared to the nose. Lightly floral, too.

Finish: Fades with some very nice oak spice, lingering maltiness, candied orange, applesauce, and very light smoke. Apricots.

The nose is terrific, and it is good throughout. But the palate doesn’t quite deliver.

Overall: 83/100

Value: 50/100 (based on $67)
