BC Malted 2-row barley with botanicals |
Distiller | Mad Lab (Vancouver, BC) |
This gin is made using Mad Lab’s Viking Vodka as a base. To the vodka is added juniper, coriander, lime zest, cucumber, bay leaf, and dill. Once the botanicals have macerated, the spirit is re-distilled with the botanicals in the pot which tends to give a stronger botanical character to the gin. The bay leaf, in particular, lends a spicier and sharper finish to the product.

Very clean, throughout – light and full of subtlety and fresh character. It starts with lemon and coriander, but with blueberry and juniper providing a backing – it has a real nice woodiness to it. Nice berry character throughout, and the juniper is very woody. Fresh spices really sparkle on the finish.
